Tarascos in Dardanelle

IMO Tarascos has some of the best authentic Mexican food in the River Valley. Their tacos cannot be beat! Great service, fresh cooked food, a vibrant atmosphere, excellent desserts, and a bar if you're in the mood for a drink all on historic Front Street in Dardanelle on the Arkansas River. Highly recommended!

The Steam Pot was excellent

Sadly, the quality of food has gone down in recent years. I ordered the carnitas, expecting slowly simmered tender chunks of pork. What I got were simply slices of a dried out pork tenderloin. On the positive side, the wait staff are very friendly, and the service is fast.

The food just wasn't as good as it used to be. The cheese dip was like water or flavored milk.

I would never have gone to this place on my own. I was with some co-workers who agreed that Mexican sounded good, and I did not want to be the line naysayer, so, that's how I ended up here.The local in our group prefaced our visit with, "this place is kind of hit or miss." The decor, well, it needs a lot of help.We started ordering our drinks. There was not a bottle or can of cold beer to be had as they had just bought beer, so I ordered draft beer.Not being a Mexican food aficionado I did not have a good understanding of what anything on the menu was, but I ordered something with the word carne in it, hoping that it would be beef.When the food arrived, somewhat piecemeal, it was hot, spicy, and absolutely delicious. I could tell that all of us were equally pleased with the meal. I lack the knowledge to say this was authentic Mexican food, but it was a wonderful experience.I look forward to eating here again!

We waited about 35 minutes for our food, we finished our chips and our waitress comes to ask us if we need anything before we even get our food. After the second time I had to ask for a refill for our chips.. The pico served with our cheese dip tasted like theyd almost had it. When we got our food, my tortillas were so chewy it was hard to tear off a bite. Something in my food crunched and crumbled in an unsatisfactory way..and I have no idea what it was, but I'm pretty sure nothing was supposed to crunch like that. Weirdly enough, as good as the food LOOKED, I felt like it was lacking in flavor, which is not normal for me when it comes to most food. The cheese dip was absolutely bomb though, I could eat 50 bowls of it no problem. I didn't complain because of my social anxiety and respect of the servers feelings, but I won't be going back..

To start, the salsa was amazing and tasted really fresh along with the chips! My boyfriend got the burrito and it was awesome too! I ordered the chicken, rice, and cheese. It came garnished with oranges and included beans, lettuce, guacamole, and pico. Overall, super impressed; and it's also a historical building as well which is super cool! New favorite, for sure!

Very good food and usually good service. Sometimes they are slow. But the food is so yummy and the people are nice!

Had to wait 45 minutes at the drive-thru window for a small order. I was the only car in line. I'm pretty reasonable but that is ridiculous.

I asked about coffee and dessert other than suggestions for McDonalds coffee! This place is over priced, people acted like it was a bother to help me or answer my questions! I would have gave them no stars if I could have!

Quality service. The Taco salad bowl was delicious. With an edible bowl. The margaritas were a bit stout for my taste. But who ever complained about too much Tequila.

Very delicious authentic food and drinks , comfortable environment and pleasant staff. There is a banquet room on the side with a bar for large groups or venues. I feel if there isn't a party or venue they should still leave that side room open as a Cantina, Front Street Bar and Grill definitely needs some competition! I would much prefer to relax and have a siesta at the Cantina here , then have to deal with certain types of people and also having to fight for the bartender's attention to order a drink just a couple blocks down.....

Wonderful place. Authentic atmosphere and cuisine. Felt like stepping into a Mexican restaurant south of the border. The service was very friendly and relaxed. I had the molcajete and it was very good. Chips and salsa tasted homemade and everyone gets their own salsa cup, very unique. They also have a variety of their own specialty guacamole. The margaritas were a little over sweet but my 78 year old Dad loved them.

There are two categories of Mexican restaurants in Arkansas. Those with from scratch handmade tortillas and those without. Luckily, this is the first. This menu is unique and delicious. I cannot recommend the bacon guacamole enough. If you are looking for a place that knows what food gets served in Mexico, this is it. On a lark, I tried the seafood boil. Wow. Just wow.

Best Mexican food in the area with very reasonable prices. They have authentic flavours and generous portions. Service can be slow, and I did not like any of the cocktails I ordered (they tasted pre-mixed). Good parking. We return frequently.

Had meeting there. They had minimum help. Food was not typically good Mex food, and cost more than good. Need to beef up staff for big meetings and hire better cooks. My beef was about all gristle, which I could not eat.

Very good food. Nice atmosphere too. Went here again to eat on 10-28 and it was delicious. Something I would recommend to try is their steam pot. It has shrimp, crab legs, steamed clams, sausage, potatoes and a big ear of corn on the cob. If you dont like something in there they will gladly keep it out if you just tell them to..give it a try..DELICIOUS
